Unrated Shirts was founded under the idea that everyday should be t shirt day.Shortly after joining the "adult work force" we decided that it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. Wearing a suit and working for "THE MAN" began to wear on us.
During a late night break-out we escaped from our jobs within Corporate America and headed toward our dream of making every day a t shirt day and ultimately reaching Total T Shirt Domination (TTD).
With $500 in our pocket we knew we had one chance at starting our business and beginning our dream, THE CASINO.
After a grueling night of losing at the casino we found ourselves with only $5 and the stench of failure. It was at this point we decided, "lets take the $5 and hit the dollar menu, it's just not going to happen."
As we started our walk of shame toward the door an old woman was backing her wheel chair away from a slot machine and tripped me. As I was falling I grabbed for JP's arm to stop my fall but instead made him fall and hit his head on the very slot machine the old lady was backing away from.
Once JP awoke from being knocked out cold we decided to play our last $5 on the very slot machine that JP split his head open on as he fell. With his head bleeding and the slot machine covered in his blood, we believed it to be fate and he placed our final $5 in the slot machine and pulled the lever.
We ended up losing everything that night and went home with empty stomachs and a bit of blood loss.
But thanks to a great attorney we were able to sue the old lady to raise enough money to start our business.
With our newly found money we started out as a small home based shop making custom shirts for local businesses and some local bands as well as funny shirts for our friends. It wasn't until mid 2005 that we realized just how important our work was and that we needed to reach a much larger audience to reach our dream of Total T Shirt Domination.
We are now able to offer top of the line shirts to everyone at affordable prices so that one day our dream of turning everyday into T shirt day will soon become a reality.
